The seasons are changing —

Though you might not know it from everyone in their winter jackets above, it’s true! This week brought a beautiful spring snow which is promptly melting, the birds are singing, and the river is raising its voice. Two weeks ago we welcomed Two Odd Foxes to River Arts for our March First Friday. It turned out to be a very special evening (watch the recap here) ~ everyone in attendance was deeply moved by their music and excited for what can happen in this small, beautiful space.

This month we have submitted applications for two grants, one local and one national. It will be a month or two before we hear back, but it feels good to be getting into the grant writing rhythm and learning every step of the way.

While we will continue to apply for grants, fundraising will always be an element of River Arts & Books. Each year we’ll need to raise money to cover operating costs, programming and events, and maintenance. Your continued support of River Arts is essential to our success and makes a direct impact on this community. If you are able to give, we appreciate and use every dollar.

This spring brings exciting developments — with better weather we can tackle some renovation jobs that have been impossible in the cold, and we’ve got two more First Fridays on the calendar. If you’re local, we really hope you’ll attend! Please feel free to spread the word and invite your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, your family, everyone.
